Architect Expo and ASA Forum 2011
Next week will be the start of the Association of Siamese Architect Convention (Feb 8-13, 2011) at IMPACT Muangtong Tani. The event includes lectures, trade shows, exhibition for architects, designers and developers. This year, the dates are early; normally it is held in May. I hear the weekend lectures are sold out but if you arrive early on the day of the event, there could be some possibility of unclaimed seats opening up. I plan to attend the exhibition on Tuesday February 8th and encourage you to do the same. Please see the following links for more information.

Take a look at this classic study by William H. Whyte of how people populate and behave in outdoor public space. Think about how sun and temperature can be controlled in your designs...

Site Model
I have been receiving some questions regarding the extent of the site model. See the attached file (A1 Scale 1:600 pdf) for reference only (the shophouses on the right side are not the Address condo) but at A1 size and scale 1:600 the context model should include the canal and airport link. If you have been instructed to work in another format by your instructor, this information may not apply and verify with your instructor the details.
This semester, other scales might be needed based on individual concepts but we will be working on models at a Minimum of two scales.
Scale 1:600 to show massing in urban context (can be shared between groups)
Scale 1:200 Building model (individual)
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Best,
aj Kerrie
